There’s a big difference between drawing by myself down in the studio at night, and drawing at the dining room table upstairs during the day. Starting a project like this on a weekend was rough, but allowed me a glimpse of it working. It allowed me to see how I can carve out this time to do the generally unseen but important work of daily sketching. Working with goals built into the process, rather than into a product.
Tomorrow’s monday, and will present its own challenges, being a regular workday. My intention on the weekdays is to do this first thing, so that I’m not tempted to cut into this “protected” time. I’ll try to keep some sort of record as to how successful I am at that.
