I want to write meaningful, informative posts. Well thought out, and researched but also bearing the voice of experience. As someone who thinks of themselves as an artist, storyteller, and educator, I want to be inspiring. To be a unicorn in world of white horses. Sometimes that desire to be something extra is overwhelming and causes me to “lock up”. I’m sorry for that. I forget that usually the things that inspire me the most are stories of the everyday, and the vulnerability of personal successes and failures.
Thank you for sticking with me while freelance work was crazy, and I was feeling emotionally unable to engage here like I should have. So where do I go from here?
First off, I need to give my landing page a face lift, rethink what my goals are, and edit my reward tiers.
Second, I draw regularly, and daily but often its either design work that I do for my day job, or sketchbook drawings. When people ask me what I do for a living, the answer comes easily “Dad, Illustrator, Roller Skater”. These are the things I do right now, and the stories I want to tell. I want to get back to telling stories, journaling and illustrating and sharing my life. I want to get back to doing these things regularly, and checking in with you regularly, so here’s my renewed commitment to Patreon and my patrons here. I will post every friday about my week. Posts will still be mainly art, but I will lean on stories of kids and skating to fill in the gaps.
Until next time, have a happy fourth of july, take care and be good.
Your friend,
Jeffrey
